meet JARA,
FOUNDER OF ASCEND AND TRY AGAIN,
CERTIFIED FORENSIC HEALER AND ARTIST
about me
Hi, I’m Jara—a certified Forensic Healer, artist, and the founder of Ascend and Try Again.
I’m an Australian-born Guatemalan woman, and for over a decade, I’ve expressed my inner world through painting—using bold colour, form, and emotion to explore themes of healing, self-awareness, and feminine strength. Art has always been more than a creative outlet for me—it’s a practice of connection, reflection, and embodiment.
In 2022, I became certified in Forensic Healing, a modality that deeply resonated with how I view transformation: honest, empowering, and rooted in uncovering truth. Since then, I’ve supported others in clearing emotional blocks, reconnecting with their intuition, and realigning with the life they’re truly meant to live.
My work is soul-level and surgical. I’m not here to soothe — I’m here to strip back the layers. This isn’t about collecting tools or chasing healing highs. It’s about dismantling the distortions that block your power. I don’t perform. I don’t pedestal. I track the truth. I follow the pattern. And I hold the mirror steady until what’s underneath reveals itself.
This isn’t just a job. It’s who I am.
Grounded. Direct. Intuitive. And fiercely committed to your liberation.
When I’m not holding sessions or painting in the studio, you’ll find me by the ocean, spending time with my cat Gerald, creating space to slow down, or enjoying moments with the people I love—always curious, always creating, and always doing my best to stay connected to my highest and most authentic self.
my story
For much of my life, I carried a deep and aching discomfort — physical, emotional, and spiritual. Unprocessed grief and rage wove themselves into my body, surfacing as chronic symptoms, skin flare-ups, and immune collapse. But the pain wasn’t just in my cells — it was in my choices, my relationships, and the version of myself I could no longer feel connected to.
I kept moving — through careers, partnerships, and paths that looked “right” but felt like betrayal. Each misalignment whispered the same thing: you’ve lost yourself. And the worst part? I didn’t know how to find my way back.
Everything shifted when I discovered Forensic Healing. It didn’t just offer relief — it gave me a map. A way to decode the pain, meet it with compassion, and alchemize it into power. It gave me tools, yes — but more importantly, it gave me permission. To slow down. To feel. To come home.
My healing didn’t happen overnight. But it happened honestly. Sustainably. In a way that finally felt like me.
Today, I live in a body that feels like a friend. In relationships that nourish rather than drain. Doing work that is soul-deep and purpose-led.
This is why I offer this work. Because I know what it’s like to suffer in silence. And I know the kind of healing that doesn’t just soothe the surface — but rewrites the story at its source.
If you’re ready to meet yourself fully — I’m already holding the door.
